Founded on January 27, 1918, Peking University People’s Hospital (PKUPH) is the first general hospital financed and operated by Chinese nationals. Throughout the past century, the hospital has had a consistent commitment to providing high-quality patient care, excellent education, and innovative research.

The International Medical Center of Peking University International Hospital is among the first batch of pilot institutions for international medical services in Beijing.
In 2020, it became the first medical institution in China to obtain both DNV International Hospital Management Certification and Infection Risk Management Certification,
and it is also the first institution in the country to be certified by DNV GL according to its infection risk management standards.
